Wynford FFA

Wynford FFA Newsletter 

District Forestry was held on September 12th at Camp Michael in Bucyrus Ohio. The Wynford FFA team placed first in the district. Annika Gerlach placed first overall with Aryn Copeland close behind her in fourth. State Forestry was held on October 5th at Hocking Hills College in Nelsonville, Ohio. The members who represented the Wynford chapter were Aryn Copeland, Ethan Stuckey, Annika Gerlach, and Luke Scott. Luke Scott lead the team placing 53rd overall. The team placed 17th out of 38 participating teams. 

The District soils contest was held on September 26th in Richland County. The Urban team placed seventh with Tessa Starner leading the team. Other team members consisted of Callie Ruffener, Madalyn Assenheimer, and Loagan Neal. Freshman FFA members Austin Honaker, Grace Scheifer, Tara Zinser, and Aaron Hand represented the Rural team at districts. The team placed fourth overall with Grace Schiefer leading the team. Grace placed fifth overall in the district contest.  On October 12th The Wynford FFA chapter rural soil judging team attended State Soil judging. The contest was held at Farm Science Review in London, Ohio and the team placed 33rd. 

The FFA and Band hosted the annual Chicken BBQ this fall on October 5, 2013 at the high
school. The BBQ was a success and all the meals were sold. There were 900 meals sold that evening. Thank you to everyone that supported the FFA/Band, and we hope to see you next year. 

The FFA chapter’s annual fruit sale started October 17th. The sale will close on November 17th with plans for the fruit, nuts, canned meat, and BBQ sauce to arrive on December 4th. Fruit will be ready to go home on December 5th. A form can be found on the home page under announcements with all of our items for sale. Please call 419-562-7828 ext. 228 to place your order.
